The battle for water has begun!
H---O---H; also known as water. Without water there is no life. Without life there is no water. After the great dispersion mankind was spread out over the Milky Way. It has been 200 years since mankind left a marooned earth. With their migration into space they brought their wars with them. At one time wars were fought gold and silver, today however wars are being fought for water. It is your task to gain control over all water resources in the galaxy by all mean necessary. You can do this by either by forming alliances or by conquering everything yourself. It is up to you. The battle for water has begun!
[strong]The storyline[/strong]
-- 2050 – Due to the constant pollution of the earth's natural resources the ozone layer could no longer serve as a natural protection against threats from space. It didn’t take long for the first asteroids to hit earth. Earth's climate began to change more rapid then before, a cascade of natural disasters was triggered. After the great asteroid hit earth in 2080 humanity was forced to end their hostilities and began on finding a solution to survive.
-- 2095 -- The United States, the European Union and the Asian block released their latest technology to the public in a race against the clock. With this they hoped to speed up development of technology to counteract against the constant threat from space. The earth was dying and was no longer capable of sustaining life for the human population. The discovery of a nearby planetary system with planets capable of sustaining life gave new hope.
-- 2104 – The first expedition left for “Eden”, a newly discovered planet not too far away where mankind could start all over again. Gradually all of earth’s population moved to Eden.
-- 2116 -- Eden didn't last long. It appeared humanity did not learn from previous errors. War erupted at the new colony. Mans lust for power and domination resulted in a complete new way of warfare. The new technologies used for founding the colony were soon used for war. Although the planetary Federation attempted to keep the peace, factions started to form all over the planet. Anarchy broke out. The conflict was about to escalate. At the threshold of nuclear destruction several factions decided to leave Eden. Soon others followed. And thus mankind started to become scattered all throughout the known galaxy. The beginning of the great dispersion had begun.
-- 2150 -- Mankind evolved to a new technological level, and started to become advanced in colonizing planets with a new technology to create atmospheres. This process was accomplished by the use of the most essential ingredient for sustaining human life.....water. And so water became more precious then gold. Technicians discovered a new way of creating fuel out of water. Water was now being used as fuel, but also to create and repair atmospheres. Instead of hunting for gold & silver mankind now lusted more and more for water.
-- 2165 -- Water, 90% of the human body consists out of water. With the lack of a Inter Stellar Law atrocities were committed by different factions. Alliances attacked each other and started not only to harvest the planets resources but also its population. A new form of slavery was born.
-- 2280 -- The great dispersion was over 200 years ago. None of the political entities of the old days have survived. There is no such thing as an Inter Stellar Law to protect the weak and to create order and peace in the known galaxy. It is survival of the fittest. Different factions and alliances have formed but none of them are strong enough to bring order in the galaxy.
Your home world has been raided many times in the past. No one was there to help you resist inter stellar marauders. You decide it has been enough. Enough with the anarchy and enough with the bloodshed. There is a need for structure and freedom. And so you start your own alliance with the purpose to guarantee safety and freedom for your people. Your goal is to form a more perfect alliance then the current ones and to establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, to provide for a common defence and to secure the blessing of liberty to your home world and all those who align with you. Those who oppose must be eradicated! All legislative powers have been herein granted to you to enable all of this.
In short, you must gain control over all water resources in this galaxy.
Your intentions have not gone unnoticed. Others have seen it as a threat. You must start with the immediate mobilization and the construction of planetary defences and a battle fleet. Time is of the essence!
